Ten signs of a hypocrite
You know you're a hypocrite if . . .
1. You protest legal Makah whaling, but you don't protest legal sport hunting.
2. You want Makahs to use old technology to hunt, while you support the use of every modern tool to stop them.
3. You want Native people to become more economically sufficient, but you want to limit their attempts to do so.
4. You say you believe in obeying the law, but are willing to reject the highest law of the land (federal treaties).
5. You say you are against hunting whales, but you eat other animals and use animal products.
6. You're a politician paid for by special interests and falsely claim Makah whaling is economically motivated.
7. You say you are there to protect the whales, but you run over them with your protest boats.
8. You are against the "brutality" of killing whales, but insist that Makahs must do it the most brutal way possible (with harpoons).
9. Within decades, your grandfathers drive the buffalo, eagle, salmon and whale to extinction for economic gain, then you attempt to shame the behavior of native people who lived in balance with the same habitat for centuries.
10. You choose not to celebrate your own cultural heritage, then wish to eliminate that same choice from others.
