Fishing the Lyre River

    lyre1

We went steelhead fishing in late December.  They were out there.  We saw them as well as a bunch of Chum Salmon.

We waded into the river.  For bait we used hooks with bright colored yarn and beads.  We used "slinkies" for weight.

    That water was COLD!!!

It was the perfect day for fishing.  No rain, but overcast.

There were lots of dead salmon here as well.  It was out of season, so we couldn't keep any live ones.  I caught one, but had to let it go.  They are fun just to have on your line.

This is the perfect spot to build a house.

Len with a fish on the line!  He didn't bring it in though.  He made up for it on the next trip!
